GLOBALGAP Standard for Pangasius and Tilapia Launched

During a press conference at the ESE fair in Brussels, GLOBALGAP introduced farmed Pangasius and Tilapia certification standards.
The standards have been tested at 15 farms in Asia and North and South America by GLOBALGAP editors. The organization is in process of making the standards applicable to all farms. All retailers present at the press conference said they are in discussions with their suppliers to carrying only certified Pangasius and Tilapia products, which they hope to accomplish in 12 months.
 
GLOBALGAP will contribute to the long-term security of the Pangasius and Tilapia industry responding to the needs of global markets. This is the reason Anova Food joined the GLOBALGAP Aquaculture Committee and chaired the Pangasius and Tilapia working group.
Anova Food will work together with its Vietnamese partners to accomplish compliance towards this acknowledged and accredited standard.
