Sustainability Review 2011 presented during ESE

At the ESE held from 3-5 May in Brussels, the first copies of the of the new Sustainability Review 2011 were handed out. During the press breakfast organized by the Dutch Fish Board on the first morning of the show, Anova presented its brand-new Sustainability Review 2011.

Constant Mulder states: “Our vision is specifically geared to the future. Our mission is to develop Anova Seafood into a market driven provider of sustainable fish products”

Lia Huisman, Corporate Social Responsibility Officer, sees the following major developments:
- Anova Seafood’s objective for 2010 was to be able to offer for minimal 75 % of its assortment a sustainable variant. This goal has been reached: at present 90% !
- Professionalism of Pangasius industry: ASC certification of our first Pangasius farms expected this year.
- Naturland certified Lake Victoria Perch from Bukoba, Tanzania, certified since 2009. In 2010 more customers changed to this
sustainable and social Naturland eco certified fish.
- Widening the sustainable fish portfolio: Since the end of 2010 Anova Seafood supplies MSC Cod and Haddock from the Barents Sea.
