This firm freshwater fish from Lake Victoria is rich in taste and easy to prepare. Lake Victoria perch is caught in Lake Victoria in Uganda and Tanzania using the artisanal method of hand lines and nets. The fish is rich in omega-3 oils.

The Nile perch is a species of freshwater fish which is native to the African continent and lives in lakes and rivers in tropical areas. The Nile perch was introduced to Lake Victoria in East Africa in the 1950s, and has since been fished commercially.
