Strategic Acquisition Strengthens Future of Seafood Industry: The Zalmhuys Group and Anova Seafood Join Forces

Den Bosch / Urk, April, 2024 – the Zalmhuys group, a market leader in fresh, frozen, and smoked salmon from Urk, and Anova Seafood, a prominent player in the international distribution and processing of fresh and chilled seafood, are proud to announce a strategic acquisition. Through this venture the Zalmhuys group will acquire a minority stake in the processing and sales activities (fresh/refreshed and frozen) of Anova Seafood, marking a new phase of collaboration and growth.

For many years, Anova Seafood, founded by Constant Mulder and Willem Huisman, has established itself as a significant company in the seafood industry, focusing on its core capabilities: the international distribution and processing of fresh and chilled seafood, mainly targeted at the European market. Its range includes primarily whitefish such as Cod/Saithe, Lake Victoria Perch, Pangasius, and Catfish.

The Zalmhuys group, known for its rapidly growing operations and high-quality salmon products, distributes worldwide to retail, foodservice, and wholesalers. This acquisition signifies an important step forward in strengthening their position in the sourcing, processing, and sales of seafood products.
